چکیده

Abstract In this paper, we present the results of inter-comparison studies on identification irradiated food carried out by leading European laboratories from 1991 to 2018. 1990s, Federal Institute for Health Protection Consumers and Veterinary Medicine in Germany played role organization inter-laboratory tests subject. At beginning century, Spanish Agency Food Safety Nutrition National Centre took over role. total, 47 international were which nearly 500 samples alimentary products analysed 37 14 countries. The aimed at proving reliability analytical methods – thermoluminescence (TL), photostimulated luminescence (PSL), electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy specific control skills experience participating laboratories. made possible a discussion why some are more difficult identification. general, showed that TL measurements such as herbs, nuts, peppers, raisins, EPR fish chicken bones, fresh strawberries, dried fruits could be used reliable methods. challenge facing now, is related complex diet supplements or biopharmaceuticals, only additives irradiated.

Detection of Ultraweak Photon Emission (UPE) from Cells as a Tool for Pathological Studies

Objective: It is well-known that all living cells emit ultra-weak photon emission (UPE), which is due to byproducts of chemical reactions in cell metabolisms. It has been shown that Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) in the cells enhances the UPE intensity. The magnitude of such UPE is extremely weak (i.e. a few to 103 photons/ (sec.cm2)), and the detection of such ultra-weak signals is hardly possi...

Detection of irradiated food using 2-alkylcyclobutanones as markers: verification of the european committee standardization method EN1785 for the detection of irradiated food containing lipids.

2-Alkylcyclobutanones (ACBs) are specific radiolytic products in irradiated lipid-containing food and can be used to detect irradiation of foodstuffs. EN1785, a European Committee Standardization Method, can detect 2-dodecylcyclobutanone (DCB) and 2-tetradecylcyclobutanone (TCB), which are ACBs, using GC/MS, thereby allowing judgement as to whether foodstuffs have been irradiated. In this study...

Total Diet Studies as a Tool for Ensuring Food Safety

With the diversification and internationalization of the food industry and the increased focus on health from a majority of consumers, food safety policies are being implemented based on scientific evidence. Risk analysis represents the most useful scientific approach for making food safety decisions. Total diet study (TDS) is often used as a risk assessment tool to evaluate exposure to hazardo...
